Joel Myers Jr Debuts with Three Stooges Racing at Florence Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Friday night at Florence Speedway, Joel Myers Jr climbed aboard Jeff West’s Three Stooges Racing No. 51 for the first time and battled with the High Limit Racing Series and came home with a 16th place finish.
“First and foremost I am extremely thankful that Jeff West and everyone involved with Three Stooges Racing have presented me with a great opportunity to compliment my schedule,” Joel Myers Jr said. “It is great equipment, and it is a beautiful car and I think we will be really good as we continue to race and get things ironed out.”
Making their first start together on Friday night at the Florence Speedway in Kentucky, Myers Jr timed the Hi-Plains Building Division/IPC/Dirt Dudes Excavating backed No. 51 in 20th fastest overall in qualifying time trials.
Lining up in the fourth row of his heat race, the Sebastopol, CA driver worked his way forward to a sixth place finish which locked him into the 25-lap feature event where he took the green flag from the 17th starting position.
When the race came to life, Myers Jr slipped back to 18th on the opening lap but raced into 15th on the second circuit. Moving into 14th on the sixth lap, Myers Jr found himself in a torrid battle for position on the extremely racy surface.
Slipping back to 16th on the eighth slap, Myers Jr settled in as he chased after the likes of Emmerson Axsom and Zane Devault. As the laps clicked off, Myers Jr was unable to get moving back forward as he was in early laps, as he ended up taking the checkered flag in 16th.
“For it being our first night out with everything new, I thought it went pretty well against a stout field and at a track I’ve never been too before,” Myers Jr added. “Noah and Dyllan did a great job all night, and I’m excited to get a couple more nights with the No. 51 team in this week.”
