Landon Brooks and Hamilton Racing Look Forward to Silver Cup Following Tough NARC Opener

PETERSEN MEDIA: Kicking their 2026 NARC campaign off on Saturday night in Merced, CA, Landon Brooks and Hamilton Racing had a tough go, but the team is already turning their attention to this weekend’s double-header in Chico, CA.

“It was definitely a tough weekend, and I feel like I let everyone down with some mistakes,” Landon Brooks said. “The Hamilton Racing team prepared a great car and I just made too many mistakes and have a lot I need to clean up moving forward.”

Hitting the tight confines of the Merced Speedway on Saturday night, Brooks got the night kicked off by timing the Lippert Construction/Tiner Hirst/Mozingo Construction backed No. 21L in 15th quickest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up in the third row of his heat race, the Rio Oso, CA driver slipped back to the sixth position as the race got underway. Hanging on to a sixth-place finish, Brooks moved into the feature event where he rolled off of the starting grid from the 15th position.

When the race came to life, Brooks jumped into 18th where he ran the first 10-laps until he lost the handle on the 11thcircuit and spun to a spot in turns one and two.

Restarting from 20th, Brooks was able to get rolling as he was up into 14th on the 16th lap when cars got together ahead of him and he got in on the action and damaged his front end.

Taking a trip to the work area as the race went into open red flag conditions, the extra time allowed the Hamilton Racing team to make extensive repairs and get Brooks back out for the restart.

Restarting in 15th with the way the race was going, Brooks was able to get going with the action resumed as he worked his way forward and raced into the Top-10.

Working his way up to ninth at one point, a battle inside the Top-10 on the 27th lap resulted with Brooks having another front end get knocked out which officially brought his night to an end.

“I really want to thank the Hamilton Family for going all in on me this year, and I wish we could have had a better opener,” Brooks said. “I will do a better job on my part and get our car up front and battling for top finishes. I also want to thank the Tiner Hirst guys for all of their hard work.”
