Late Incident Knocks Mariah Ede Out of NARC Top-10
PETERSEN MEDIA: Mariah Ede was back on American soil Saturday night where she had a great run going with NARC during their season opening event at Merced Speedway, until issues late in the race derailed her efforts.
“I was really happy with how our night went until we got turned late in the race and essentially ended our night with the damage we endured from the incident,” Mariah Ede said. “It was a bummer way to end the night, but really happy with the speed we had.”
Hitting the Merced Speedway on Saturday night, Ede timed the Pacific Boring/M&L Plumbing/Circle J5 Ranch backed No. 14 entry in 10th fastest in qualifying time trials before finishing fourth in heat race action.
Moving into the feature event, the Fresno State student lined up on the outside of the fifth row, and did a great job of battling hard inside the Top-10 despite some chaotic events in the feature event that led to numerous restarts.
Driving a great race as the laps clicked off, Ede made a move into sixth with just 10-laps to go but as she looked to complete the pass contact from behind sent her into a spin and she then endured contact from another car that brought her night to an end.
“It definitely leaves you disappointed with how the night ended despite all the good that came from it,” Ede added. “On the other hand, I know we have a great car and a great package and that has me excited for the season ahead.”
Mariah Ede and the Mariah Ede Racing team would like to thank Pacific Boring, M&L Plumbing, Circle J5 Ranch, FK Rod Ends, and MetTec Titanium for their support.
ON TAP: Mariah Ede will return to action on March 20th at Watsonville Speedway.
