Mariah Ede 11th During Debut at Calistoga Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Making her first ever laps at Calistoga Speedway over the weekend as the track re-opened for the first time since the 2019 season, Mariah Ede picked up an 11th place finish on Sunday night after getting taken out on Saturday night.

“It was really cool to get to Calistoga Speedway, and compete at such a historic track,” Mariah Ede said. “I don’t have a ton of experience on a big track, so just being able to get a ton of laps there was great. I was hoping we could get in the Top-10 on Sunday, but we just came up short.”

Getting the weekend underway on Saturday night, extremely slick track conditions in time trials saw Ede time her Pacific Boring/M&L Plumbing/Circle J5 Ranch No. 14 in 10th fastest in time trials.

With track conditions and time constraints being factored in, the decision was then made the cancel NARC heats on this night which put the Fresno, CA driver 10th on the starting grid from the 25-lap feature event.

As the race came to life and the field thundered into turn one Ede drifted up the track and slipped back to 15th as the field raced down the long Calistoga Speedway back stretch.

Settling in, Ede hit her marks as he continued to feel out the famed speedway and ran in 15th.

Clicking off laps, Ede then endured heavy contact exiting turns three and four on the 13th lap that ultimately ended her night.

Making repairs on Sunday, Ede was set for the Louie Vermeil Classic later that evening and got the night kicked off by timing in 12th quickest in qualifying time trials.

Getting heat race in on this night, Ede picked up a seventh-place finish in the eighth lap shootout which put her in the 13thstarting position for the 25-lap feature event.

With a slick surface early in the night, a track prep session once heat race action for both divisions was completed worked wonders and a very good surface was offered up for the NARC feature.

Setting into 14th when the race came to life, Ede worked her way into 13th on the seventh lap and then jumped into 10thon a lap 10 restart.

Running inside the Top-10 for the next seven laps, Ede slipped back to 11th on the 17th circuit. Looking for a way back into 10th as the laps clicked down, Ede was unable to get the spot back and capped her weekend off with an 11th place finish.

“I really want to thank my Dad and Doug for all of their hard work all weekend long,” Ede said. “There was a lot of tire work, and some torn up parts, but everyone worked hard, and I am very appreciative. I was happy to log a lot of laps and really feel like I made a lot of progress as a driver on a big track.”

Mariah Ede and the Mariah Ede Racing team would like to thank Pacific Boring, M&L Plumbing, Circle J5 Ranch, FK Rod Ends, and MetTec Titanium for their support.
