Mariah Ede 14th with KWS/NARC at Antioch
PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting off to a tough start on Saturday night in Antioch, CA and enduring a flat tire in time trials, Mariah Ede still battled hard as she continues her first full season running a 410ci and finished 14th.
“It was a struggle all day, but I am happy to continue to get laps in a 410ci no matter how the night ended up,” Mariah Ede said.
Kicking the night off in time trials, a flat tire on the slick surface relegated Ede to timing the Pacific Boring/M&L Plumbing/Circle J5 Ranch backed No. 14 entry in 21st fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up seventh in her heat race, the Fresno, CA native had a solid heat race as she rolled off the starting grid from the seventh position. On the slick Antioch Speedway surface, Ede was able to pick up a couple of spots as her fifth place finish locked her into the 14th starting position in the 30-lap feature event.
Falling back to 18th as the race came to life, Ede was able to settle in and get into a bit of a groove as the laps clicked off. Slowly able to make up some of the lost ground Ede found herself back in 14th with 10 laps left in the race.
Continuing to make good laps on the Antioch Speedway, Ede capped the night off with a 14th place finish as he now turns her attention to a big two-race stretch with NARC this coming weekend.
“Excited that we get into a good stretch of the schedule to get a lot of racing in,” Ede added. “We have a big weekend ahead with races in Watsonville, CA and Tulare, CA so that should be a lot of fun for us.”
