Mariah Ede 17th with NARC at Bradway Jr Memorial
PETERSEN MEDIA: Saturday night, Mariah Ede returned to action with the NARC series for what is her rookie campaign with the series and tallied a 17th place finish in the annual Dave Bradway Jr Memorial, which was held at Placerville Speedway in Placerville, CA.
“It was nice to get back to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night for our first 410ci start of the season there,” Mariah Ede said. “It was a super-hot day, so I am very thankful for my team working so hard.”
With 32 cars checked into the pit area for one of the series’ crowned jewel events, Ede opened the night up by timing her Pacific Boring/M&L Plumbing/Circle J5 Ranch backed no. 14 entry in 12th fastest.
Lining up in the third row of her heat race, Ede got off to a great start on a very slick surface as he quickly moved into the fifth and final transfer spot. Holding down the lock in spot, her fifth-place finish put her in the ninth row for the 40-lap Dave Bradway Jr Memorial feature event.
As the race came to life, contact with another car saw Ede get out of shape enough to slip back to 20th on the opening stanza.
With a bit of damage to the right-rear corner of her car, Ede held tough for all 40-laps on the slick surface as he she slowly was able to pick up a few spots.
Abel to race her way back to 17th in the final laps, Ede was happy to hang on despite having a broken Jacob’s Ladder, and now looks forward to an extremely busy two weeks with the series.
“When the feature went green, we got into another car and it broke the Jacob’s ladder,” Ede said. “It wasn’t the best race for us, but we got 40 more laps in, and now we have a lot of racing in the next couple of weeks to improve our results.”
