PETERSEN MEDIA: Making hir first 360ci start of the season on Friday night at Watsonville Speedway in Watsonville, CA, Mariah Ede had a very strong night that saw her score a sixth-place finish in the feature event.

“We didn’t quite have our gearing right for time trials, so we didn’t time in like we had hoped, but we had a very good car with a ton of speed in our het race and in the feature event,” Mariah Ede said.

In what was the track’s season opening event, as well as their first with a new leadership group, Ede and company showed up to support the track nestled in Santa Cruz County.

Timing the Pacific Boring/M&L Plumbing/Circle J5 Ranch backed No. 14 in eighth quickest in time trials, the Fresno, CA driver lined up in the second row of her heat race. Getting a great jump in her heat, Ede was able to move into second, where she finished, and lined up eighth in the 25-lap feature event.

On a very racy Watsonville Speedway surface, Ede kept her car firmly battling for a position in the Top-5 all race long. Searching both lanes that were offered up on Friday night, Ede looked extremely strong and comfortable during the 25-lapper.

When the checkered flag flew on the race, Ede capped the night off with a sixth-place finish, as she now turns her attention back to the NARC schedule this coming weekend.

“It was a really good night for us, and with what the new promotional group at Watsonville Speedway has done in the short time that they have been in control, it will definitely be a place we get back to a few more times,’ Ede added. “In our first two races we have had a lot of speed so we are excited for the season to really ramp up for us.”
