Mariah Ede 8th at Watsonville Speedway
PETERSEN MEDIA: A light weekend of racing action for Mariah Ede and her Mariah Ede Racing team saw them score an eighth-place finish at Watsonville Speedway on Friday night.
“Our goal with running the Watsonville races is to use those nights to try new things on our car and see what we can learn,” Mariah Ede said. “Unfortunately, the last couple of races, it has put us behind early in the night and we haven’t had the results that we have been hoping for.”
Timing her Pacific Boring/M&L Plumbing/Circle J5 Ranch backed No. 14 entry in sixth fastest in qualifying time trials, Ede lined up on the front row of her heat race.
Battling with the likes of Bud Kaeding and Max Mittry, Ede was shuffled back in an action-packed heat race as she ended up with a fourth-place finish which placed her in the fourth row of the 25-lap feature event.
When the green lights flashed on at Watsonville Speedway, Ede slipped back in the early portions of the race as she was back in 10th on the fourth lap. Settling in, Ede was able to get back to ninth on the race’s sixth lap and then moved into eighth at the halfway point.
Running well inside the Top-10, Ede was unable to make any more moves in the fast-paced finale, as she capped her night off with an eighth-place finish.
“It has been a little disappointing with our results the last few nights out, but I am confident we will get everything ironed out and get back to where we want to be,” Mariah Ede added.
