Mariah Ede Caps Rookie NARC Season With Rookie of Year Honors

PETERSEN MEDIA: When the checkered flag waived Saturday night, it brought an end to Mariah Ede’s first full season running with the Northern Auto Racing Club (NARC). Though the night didn’t end how she had hoped, the bigger picture saw Ede earn Rookie of the Year Honors and finish 5th in the season long standings.

“Our season did come to a great end on Saturday night in Stockton, CA, but we were happy not to tear anything up and roll back in the box in one piece after how the last few races went,” Mariah Ede said. “It was a challenging season, but I am so thankful for everyone that made it possible.”

On the tight confines of the Stockton Dirt Track, Ede timed in 15th fastest with the track still very fast and tight early in the night. Lining up in the third row of her heat race, the Fresno, CA driver was able to pick up a position as she battled her way to a 15th place finish.

Moving into the 30-lap feature event, Ede rolled off from the eighth row aboard her Pacific Boring/M&L Plumbing/Circle J5 Ranch backed No. 14 entry.

When the feature event came to life, Ede slipped back initially as the track was still tricky in the early stages of the finale. As the track widened out and the race go into an extended green flag run, Ede was able to make up some of her lost ground.

Getting back into 15th at the halfway point, Ede felt pressure for the position until she took the spot for good on the 20thlap.

Capping her NARC season with a 15th place finish, she successfully earned Rookie of the Year Honors and finished 5th in the point standings in what was her first full season following the 410ci series.

“Looking back, our season was filled with a lot of ups and downs, but I am proud of how we battled each week no matter the circumstance,” Ede added. “I am incredibly blessed to have some great sponsors behind me that showed up all year and a great family. I am also really thankful that Doug Watts came in the last few months of the season and helped us tremendously.”

Mariah Ede and the Mariah Ede Racing team would like to thank Pacific Boring, M&L Plumbing, Circle J5 Ranch, FK Rod Ends, and MetTec Titanium for their support.

ON TAP: With the season winding down in California, Ede tentatively has a date in Merced, CA on November 22nd on her schedule as a possible final race of the year.
