Mariah Ede Heads Toward First Dirt Cup Following Fastest 5 Days In Motorsports
PETERSEN MEDIA: With a tough ‘Fastest 5 Days in Motorsports’ behind her, Mariah Ede and the Ede Racing team are pointed towards Alger, WA where Ede is now slated to take part in her first Super Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway.
“The Speedweek through Oregon didn’t quite go as we had hoped,” Mariah Ede said. “We battled some engine issues, and really struggled at times but we continued to work hard.”
Despite having issues, Ede still was able to find some positives during the week as she gained valuable track and seat time in what is her first season racing with NARC fulltime.
“I was hopeful to put a couple of good nights together, but we continued to fight gremlins,” Ede said. “Sunday night we were able to get our engine issues ironed out, but the track conditions were really tricky, and it wasn’t the greatest night of racing.”
Picking up finishes of 13th at Southern Oregon Speedway, 16th at the Douglas County Dirt Track and Cottage Grove Speedway, 20th at Willamette Speedway, and 18th at Gray’s Harbor Raceway, the Fresno, CA driver is looking forward to a return trip to Skagit Speedway this week as she will take part in her first ever Super Dirt Cup.
“After a couple of days to recoup and go back through everything I am excited to hit the track again this week at Skagit Speedway for the Super Dirt Cup,’ Ede said. “It will be a really tough field of cars, but I am looking forward to the challenge and hoping to have some better results.”
