Mariah Ede Lands In NARC Top-10 at Petaluma Speedway
PETERSEN MEDIA: After a slight break to open July following a very busy June, Mariah Ede and her Mariah Ede Racing team were back in action with NARC on Saturday night at Petaluma Speedway where the Fresno, CA racer picked up an eighth-place finish on an extremely demanding surface.
“After a couple of weeks off to recoup from a busy northwest swing, it was great to get back racing and to see some results,” Mariah Ede said. “We were really good all night, and it was great to get a good finish on a really demanding track in the feature.”
Going out fifth for time trials, Ede laid down a solid lap aboard her Pacific Boring/M&L Plumbing/Circle J5 Ranch backed No. 14 car as she ended up eighth fastest in the qualifying session.
Making some changes prior to her heat race, Ede rolled off the starting grid from the front row alongside Tim Kaeding. With TK getting the jump, Ede tucked into the second spot and paced Kaeding all race long. Finishing second, Ede locked herself into the eighth starting spot for the 30-lap feature event.
On a track that grew increasingly rougher as the night went on, Ede moved into sixth when the action came to life. Running in sixth, Ede looked very good as he worked through some of the rough stuff and got up on two wheels at times in turns one and two.
Amidst a very long green flag run, Ede gave up a spot on the 18th lap as he bicycled through turns one and two but continued to hang tough inside the Top-10. Running in seventh, Ede slipped back to eighth coming to the white flag and went on to hold the spot over the final two laps and cap her night off with an eighth-place finish.
“The surface in the feature was by far the toughest track I have ever raced on, and I was pretty exhausted after 30-laps,” Ede added. “We had a great car, and I am proud of the night we put together. Thanks to my Dad and everyone that helps our team out.”
Mariah Ede and the Mariah Ede Racing team would like to thank Pacific Boring, M&L Plumbing, Circle J5 Ranch, FK Rod Ends, and MetTec Titanium for their support.
ON TAP: Mariah Ede will continue to battle with NARC this weekend as the series heads to Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA on Friday and Saturday for the Howard Kaeding Classic.
