Mariah Ede Scores Another Top-10 at Watsonville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: A busy weekend for Mariah Ede and her Mariah Ede Racing team saw the Fresno, CA driver score a seventh place finish on Friday night in Watsonville, CA before finishing on Saturday night with NARC in Tulare, CA.

“With how our first couple of races went, that wasn’t the type of weekend we had anticipated,” Mariah Ede said. “We sort of struggled with our car reacting to any changes we made so that put us behind both nights, but I know we will bounce back and get to the track strong this week.”

Kicking her weekend off on Friday night in Watsonville, CA, the Fresno State student timed her Pacific Boring/M&L Plumbing/Circle J5 Ranch backed No. 14 entry in 11th fastest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up in the sixth starting position of her heat race, Ede had a nice run as he worked around the ¼ mile bullring and finished fourth.

Moving into the feature event, Ede took the green flag from the outside of the fourth row, and form there had a good race long battle inside the Top-10. Amidst a hard-fought battle with the likes of Travis Labat and Adrianna DeMartini, Ede capped her Friday night off with a seventh-place finish.

Saturday night marked the second round of NARC action as the scene shifted to Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA.

Getting her Saturday night kicked off by timing in 23rd quickest in qualifying time trials, Ede found herself starting in the fourth row of her heat race. With the top-six finishers moving directly to the feature event, she had a very solid heat race as she ultimately worked her way to a fifth-place finish.

With the automatic transfer into the feature, Ede lined up in the 15th starting position. Over the course of the feature, Ede wasn’t quite able to work her way forward as he did in the heat race as she tried several different lines around the Thunderbowl.

In the end, Ede capped the night off with a 21st place finish.

“Both nights were full of ups and downs, and now all we can do is try and figure out what the issue was and correct it,” Ede said. “Thanks to Doug, my dad, and all of our partners for everything they continue to do for our race team.”

Mariah Ede and the Mariah Ede Racing team would like to thank Pacific Boring, M&L Plumbing, Circle J5 Ranch, FK Rod Ends, and MetTec Titanium for their support.
