PETERSEN MEDIA: Ending 2024 on a high note, Paul Nienhiser eagerly awaited the start of the 2025 season. This past weekend he was finally able to bring his season to life and he continued to run well as he picked up a third place finish on Saturday night at 34 Raceway and backed it up with a sixth place effort at Stuart Speedway.
“I really have to thank Scott Bonar for all of his hard work this off season,” Paul Nienhiser said. “2025 will be another collaborative effort between both of our teams just as it was last year, but we will race even more this coming year and we are all excited about that.”
The weekend kicked off on Saturday night in Burlington, IA at 34 Raceway as Nienhiser lined the Heartland Trailer Mfg/Rockstar Wraps/Midland Performance backed No. 50 up in the third row of his heat race.
As the heat came to life, the Chapin, IL driver was able to work his way through the field as he picked up a third-place finish and made himself Dash eligible with his passing/fishing points.
Finishing fifth in the Dash, Nienhiser took the green flag from the third row for the 20-lap Sprint Invaders feature event. Running in fifth for the first couple of stanzas, Nienhiser raced his way into third on the third lap and settled in nicely. Maintaining the spot for the duration of the race, Nienhiser officially kicked his season off on the podium.
Sunday night the team made their way to Stuart Speedway for more Sprint Invaders action, and Nienhiser drew the front row of his heat race.
Finishing second in his heat, Nienhiser locked into the feature event but missed out on a Dash berth.
Taking the green flag from the outside of the fifth row, Nienhiser wasted no time getting off to a great start as he worked his way into the seventh position. Holding down seventh for nearly the first half of the race, Nienhiser moved into sixth on the 10th lap until trouble struck on the 13th lap and he fell back to 12th.
Getting his elbows up, Nienhiser raced his way back into the Top-10- with four laps left in the race as he took over 10thon lap 21, but wasn’t done yet. In the waning laps, he picked up a spot a lap and capped the weekend off with a sixth-place finish.
“We had great speed all weekend long, but track conditions, and some interesting decisions by some of my fellow competitors impeded our progress at times,” Nienhiser said. “Overall, really happy with how I felt all weekend.”
Nienhiser would like to thank CAM2 Lubricants, Midland Performance Inc., MB Heating & Cooling Inc., Buffalo Wild Wings, T&K Tree Services, Morrow Brothers Ford Inc., American Rental Center, Signature Signs, The Auringer Family, Matt Bradshaw, Wessler Bros.
