PETERSEN MEDIA- An opening in the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour saw current point leader, Aaron Reutzel spend his weekend competing with the Roth Motorsports team. Making his debut with the team, and both the Civil War and King of the West Series, Reutzel got out of California with a pair of Top-10 finishes including a fifth place effort with the King of the West Series.

“I really have to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth as well as Todd Ventura for giving me this opportunity,” Aaron Reutzel said. “I had an off weekend in my schedule, and really thought things went well for our first outing together.”

Climbing aboard the Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/3H Cattle No. 83sr for the first time on Friday night at the Ocean Speedway, the Clute, TX driver timed in 11th fastest before picking up a win during heat race competition.

Earning a spot in the Dash by way of his heat win, Reutzel would pick up a position as he finished in the seventh spot, where he would line up for the 30-lap feature event.

A heavy and rough surface would prove challenging for all drivers in attendance on Friday night, and Retuzel seemed to take a liking to the bottom of the speedway. As the first 17-laps of the feature event went green, Reutzel hung inside the Top-10 as he ran in the ninth spot when the race’s lone caution flag flew.

Battling with the likes of Jonathan Allard, and his Roth Motorsports teammate, Kyle Hirst, in the closing stages of the race, Reutzel would end his first night aboard the Roth Motorsports machine with a 10th place finish.

Bolting the 410ci power-plant into the frame-rails of the Mobil1/3H Cattle/FK Rod Ends backed machine, Reutzel would time in sixth fastest on an extremely slick racing surface.

From the second row of his heat race, Retuzel would look to make a big move on the start of the race as he made a bid for the lead, but with nothing to hold him, he would slide up and settle for a second place finish.

Lining the Deniis and Teresa Roth owned No. 83sr machine up in the fifth row for the 30-lap Howard Kaeding Classic feature event, Reutzel would be one of the lone movers during the first 17-laps as he ran in the sixth spot during the race’s first caution.

Getting a great restart, Reutzel would surge into the fourth spot as he battled with Tyler Walker and Carson Macedo. After cautions on lap 21 and 25, Reutzel would hook up in a very entertaining slide-job battle with Carson Macedo to close the race. Over the final five laps, the duo seemingly exchanged the fourth spot corner after corner, and the end result was Reutzel finishing fifth.

“Friday night was tough, but Saturday night was a blast,” Retuzel said. “The guys worked hard to get me comfortable, and we made progress each time out. Again, I just want to thank the entire team for making this possible.”

The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, 3H Cattle,  Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, and Astro Titanium for their support in 2015.
