PETERSEN MEDIA- Making the short trip to the Marysville Raceway Park on Saturday night, Jonathan Allard cashed in for his 12th win of the 2014 season with the Tri-C Motorsports team, as he grabbed the lead on the first lap of the feature event and never looked back.

“The track was fast, and tricky, and we were able to get out front early, and hold off some challengers and hang on and win even with a U-Joint breaking out of turn four,” Allard explained.

Timing the Tri-C Manufacturing/K&N/Redline oil backed No. 3c in sixth fastest, Allard would go on to finish third in his heat race, putting himself in the third row of the feature event.

When the green flag waived on the feature event, front row starter, Kevin Lovell got upside-down, and Allard had nowhere to go and got some of the action, but was able to continue on with no damage, and move up to the fourth spot.

The second attempt at a start saw Allard make a very bold move on the high-side of turns one and tow, and heading down the back stretch, the Chico, CA had the lead, as he began to set the tempo on the MRP surface.

Behind Allard the action was intense, as Willie Croft began charging forward, as Allard felt pressure from Brent Dothage, Andy Forsberg and Croft, but he didn’t let he deter him as he found himself in traffic.

With a couple of yellows in the course of the feature event, Allard was able to keep his challengers at bay, but soon felt pressure from Croft as the race began to draw to a close.

A late race pile up in turn four, saw Allard and Croft both get some damage, but they both were able to continue on with just three laps to go.

Over the final laps, Allard was able to break away from Croft, and as he exited turn four, coming to the checkered flag, his U-Joint expired, but somehow he was able to beat Croft to the line and pick up the win.

“I though we were done when that happened,” Allard said. “I was shocked we beat Willie Croft back to the line. I can’t thank Randy V and the boys enough for their hard work, and the Lamar family for continuing to support us and let us race so much.”

Allard would like to thank Tri-C Manufacturing, K&N, ButlerBuilt, Platinum Powder Coating, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, Weld Wheels, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, Ti64, A.R.T. Speed Equipment and Hoosier Tire for their support.

2014 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-58, Wins-12, Top 5’s-29, Top 10’s-40.

ON TAP: Allard and the Tri-C Motorsports team will head to the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA on Saturday night for the Cotton Classic with the King of the West Series.
