PETERSEN MEDIA- Racing close to home over the weekend, Chico, CA pilot, Jonathan Allard, picked up a third place finish on Friday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway before grabbing a second place finish on Saturday night at the Marysville Raceway.
“We are getting closer to that first win, and with the Bradway Memorial coming up in a couple of weeks, I sure hope we can put ourselves in position to win that race,” Allard said.
Competing in 410ci action at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, Allard kicked his night off in fine fashion, as he was the quickest qualifier of the night aboard his Tri-C Manufacturing/K&N/ButlerBuilt No. 3c machine.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Allard would work into the second spot, as he chased after Andy Forsberg, only to finish second, putting himself on the front row of the feature event.
With the green flag in the air, Allard put his machine on the high, scary side of the speedway, as he would slip to the third spot, and spend much of the race chasing after Colby Copeland and Sean Becker. Sitting in the catbird’s seat of the battle up front, Allard kept the lead duo in striking distance as he raced right behind them.
Trying both the top and bottom of the speedway to find what he needed to get by the lead duo, Allard just did not have what he needed, as he crossed the finish line in the third spot.
Saturday night, Allard and company bolted their 360ci engine inside the frame rails of the Amerikote/King Racing Products/BR Motorsports backed machine and headed to the Marysville Raceway.
After timing in second fastest in time trials, ‘JA’ would finish second in his heat race, and find himself starting in the third for the feature event. As the action came to life, Allard was able to work his way into the third position as he found himself chasing after Heath Hall and Justin Sanders.
Staying right with the lead duo, Allard was able to work into the second spot on the 18th lap, as he then stalked Sanders for the top spot. With passing being tough on this night, Allard went for every opportunity he was given to get by the leader, but on this night he would come up just short as he closed his weekend out with a second place finish.
“It was nice to get a couple of strong finishes this weekend, and this team is hopeful we can get over the hump and grab a win very soon,” Allard said. “I really want to thank all of the people who help on this car, as well as Clyde and Marion Lamar, and all of our sponsors for everything they do.”
Allard would like to thank Tri-C Manufacturing, K&N, ButlerBuilt, Amerikote, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, Weld Wheels, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, RCM Design, Ti64, A.R.T. Speed Equipment and Hoosier Tire for their support.
2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-19, Wins-2, Top 5’s-10, Top 10’s-11.
