Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing 11th at David Tarter Memorial

PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking part in the Sprint Car Challenge Tour’s debut at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA on Saturday night, Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing would overcome an early hole to finish 11th in the feature event amongst a loaded pit area.

“Our night started out with me not quite telling the guys my plan for time trials, and it kind of bit us as they had me set up to do something else and it didn’t work,” Forsberg said. “We ended up going through the ‘B’ and running through the field pretty well in the ‘A’ before a melee coming to the checkered saw me spin across the finish line in 11th.”

Going out last to qualify in both his group and overall, amongst the 61 cars checked into the pit area, Forsberg would end up timing the C&H Motor Parts/Bushey Financial Services/PitStopUSA backed entry in fifth quickest in his group.

Lining up fifth in his heat race, the Auburn, CA driver would finish fifth and find himself in the ‘B’ Main. Lining up ninth in the ‘B’, Forsberg would have his elbows up as he sliced and diced his way through the field. Working into a transfer position, Forsberg continued to work his way forward as he would end up third and put himself safely in the 35-lap feature event.

Based on his finish in the ‘B’, Forsberg would roll off the starting grid from the 21st starting position on the slick Silver Dollar Speedway surface.

Just as he did in the ‘B’, Forsberg was able to race his way forward. Patiently racing through the field, Forsberg would pick up spots under green flag action, and would also use a few restarts to gain ground.

Racing into the Top-10 at the race’s halfway point, Forsberg would continue his charge forward.

Getting up to seventh with 10-to-go, Forsberg would find himself in a very torrid battle for position.

A late restart with two-to-go would bunch the field back up, and as he continued to fight for position inside the Top-10 coming to the checkered flag some contact would ensue resulting in the No.x1 machine spinning to the finish as he crossed the stripe in the 11th spot.

“Thanks to the F&F guys for continuing to work hard after our miscommunication to start the night out,” Forsberg said. “I’m not sure if I was too slow on the bottom coming to the checkered and someone got into the back of me, or if someone wanted the spot, but luckily nothing to major happened and we move on to race Placerville on Saturday.”

F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank C&H Motor Parts, Bushey Financial Services, PitStopUSA, Geico Local Office, Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, CRV Carbon Solutions, All Pro Heads, and Engler for their support in 2021.

ON TAP: F&F Racing will get back to racing action on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-10, Wins-1, Top 5’s-5, Top 10’s-7.
