PETERSEN MEDIA- With a break in the weekly action at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing made the trip to Petaluma Speedway to compete in a PitStopUSA Shootout race and the choice paid off the team as Forsberg and company recorded their fifth win of the season.
“It was actually a pretty good battle late with myself, Bradley Terrell, and Klint Simpson,” Andy Forsberg said. “We had a great starting position and I actually goofed it up early, but the track was great as was my car and we were able to get it done.”
Forsberg who has been hot as of late kicked Saturday night off by timing the Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes/Geico Local Office/PitStopUSA No. x1 entry fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Forsberg would have his hands full as he jockeyed for the final transfer position which he would need to stay in to keep his spot in the redraw.
Battling with Brett Barney and Brett Rollag, Forsberg would hang on to the fifth spot and safely keep his spot in the redraw. Having some luck on his side, the one pill would put Forsberg on the front row of the feature event alongside Bradley Terrell.
When the race came to life, Forsberg would slip back to third as he now found himself chasing after Terrell and Klint Simpson.
Patiently working the famed Petaluma Gumbo, Forsberg would make his move on the 23rd lap. Able to rocket to the point, Forbserg would fend off his challengers in the closing laps as he picked up his fifth win of the season with F&F Racing and his 10th overall.
