PETERSEN MEDIA- For the third time in four races at Placerville Speedway, Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing parked on the front stretch as the team picked up their fourth win of the season on Saturday night.
“Things have been going really well at Placerville Speedway for us,” Andy Forsberg said. “The last four races we have been really strong and in the mix to win. To win for the third time in four races here is pretty cool.”
Kicking the night off by timing in fastest amongst the 20-cars checked in for Fan Appreciation Night, Forsberg would have his elbows up in heat race competition on the hooked up ¼ mile bullring as he charged from fourth to second.
Fresh off of a controversial WheelBarrow Race win during intermission, Forsberg would find himself with the three-pill during the redraw as he sought after his fourth win of the season at the famed NorCal facility.
With the track still holding speed and offering up a few different lane choices, Forsberg would jump into second as he chased after Tony Gualda who set a blistering pace during the opening stanza of the race.
A lap 10 restart would see Gualda have issues and Forsberg would assume the role as race leader, though would have company by the name of Justin Sanders.
Running the low side of the speedway, Forsberg would hear Sanders making noise up top and would try the lane for a pair of laps before dropping back down low.
A couple of timely cautions kept the leaders out of traffic, and when the checkered flag dropped, it was Forsberg pocketing the win.
“The crew is working really hard right now, things are going our way and we will look to keep this up this weekend in Hanford with the SCCT.”
