PETERSEN MEDIA- Pointing out that 2019 has been feast or famine one week ago following a tough night, Saturday night was all feast for Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing as the team picked up their fifth win of the season at Placerville Speedway.
“After a long night last week it feel great to get back up here in victory lane,” Andy Forsberg said. “We still had some work to do after qualifying, so if we ever have an event free night, I’m not sure what these guys will do.”
Timing the F&F Racing No. x1 machine in sixth quickest in qualifying time trials, Forsberg would race the Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes/Geico Local Office/PitStopUSA backed machine to a second place finish in heat race action.
Having some help via a pair of top qualifiers winning their heat races, Forsberg would snatch a spot in the redraw where the four pill put him in the second row of the feature event.
Following a wreck on the initial start, the second attempt would see Forsberg get a great jump as he moved into second and chased after the early leader, Jodie Robinson.
While Robinson was stout out front, Forsberg would give chase but could not get by until the yellow flew on the 13thlap.
The ensuing restart saw Forsberg make a power move in turns one and two to rocket out to the top spot. Once in front, it was smooth sailing for the reigning track champion as he went on to score his fourth win in points action of the year and fifth overall at the speedway.
“I have to thank the F&F guys for all of their hard work again on Saturday night,” Forsberg noted. “It was a great night, and I am excited for the Mark Forni Classic.”
