PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking part in the Sprint Car Challenge Tour’s first ever race, Andy Forsberg and the C&M Motorsports team charged forward from 13th to score an eighth place finish on Saturday night in Antioch, CA.

“Everyone with the SCCT did a great job of putting this deal together, and a huge field of cars forced you to be on your ‘A’ game,” Forsberg said. “The track wasn’t necessarily the greatest, but we were able to come from the ‘B’, and get a Top-10.”

A new series and a new format would essentially pit drivers against other drivers in their heat races for time trials, and Forsberg would time the PitStopUSA/Autism Awareness/Pacific Highway Rentals backed No. 7c in second fastest in his group.

Heat races would still be inverted by four, and with only three transfer spots up for grabs, the elbows would be forced up in each heat. Finishing fourth, the Auburn, CA driver would be forced into the “B” main. Grabbing the win in the semi, Forsberg would move into the feature event where he would grid the field from the 13th spot.

On a surface that made passing difficult at times, Forsberg would be patient, and be careful to not be a crash victim, as he patiently worked his way forward. Taking advantage of a couple restarts, Forsberg would crack the Top-10 as he would work his way up to finish in the eighth spot.

“We had a good car, and some good speed, but we just needed to get out of our heat race to be further forward,” Forsberg added. “My guys did a good job, and I enjoy running this 7c car.”

Wednesday night, Sean Becker was a guest driver for C&M Motorsports as they took on the World of Outlaws in Placerville, CA.

A night that just simply did not go well for the team saw ‘The Shark’ finish seventh in his heat race, and end up third in the ‘C’ main.

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank PitStopUSA, Autism Awareness, Pacific Highway Rentals, PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, 51 Fifty Energy Drink, and Velocity Race Gear and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
