PETERSEN MEDIA- Looking for his 10th win of the season with the C&M Motorsports team, Andy Forsberg would turn in a hard fought effort during Saturday night’s 11th Annual Mark Forni Classic that ultimately saw him finish in the fourth spot.

“We had a good car in the feature event and probably should have finished a few spots better, but it didn’t work out,” Andy Forsberg said. “The track was nice, and the RMI team should be proud.”

With 27 cars checked into the pit area for the prestigious event, Forsberg would stop the clocks with the fifth fastest lap of the night during qualifying time trials. With the track still fast around the bottom in heat races, Forsberg would finish in the fourth spot.

By way of his finish in the heat as well as his qualifying effort, “Mr. Excitement” would transfer the PitStopUSA/Autism Awareness/PT Shocks No. 7c machine into the Dash.

With the eight pill being pulled, Forsberg would grid the field from the fourth row for the six-lap shootout. Show his hand, Forsberg would turn in a great performance that saw him work his way up into the third spot, which would place him in the second row for the 30-lap affair.

On a slick Placerville Speedway surface with a monster curb built up in both corners, Forsberg would spend much of the race in a spirited battle with Mason Moore as they jockeyed for the third spot.

With a few cautions hampering the last 10-laps of the feature event, Forsberg would see himself get up and battle Kyle Hirst for the runner up spot but would find himself forced to try a different line which would allow Moore back by.

In the final laps, Forsberg would wind up bringing the C&M Motorsports home with a fourth place finish.

“Overall it was a good night for us,” Forsberg said. “You would rather get wins than worry about a points battle but Sean Becker had us all covered. Thanks to the & Motorsports guys for giving me a strong car. On another note, I really want to send my condolences and well wishes to the Clauson family.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank PitStopUSA, Autism Awareness, Pacific Highway Rentals, PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, and Velocity Race Gear and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.

ON TAP: The C&M Motorsports team will return to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night.
