Andy Forsberg Fourth at Nor*Cal Posse Shootout

PETERSEN MEDIA- After a tough Friday night at the Nor*Cal Posse Shootout, Andy Forsberg and the F&F Racing team came back strong on Saturday night and picked up a fourth place finish.

“Friday night we kind of got stuck in no-man’s land in our qualifying group and ended up starting towards the back of the feature and got caught up in ‘the big one’,” Forsberg said. “Saturday night we came back, set fast time overall and had a really good night.”

Timing in second in his group on Friday and running third in his heat race, Forsberg would take the green flag from the 14th starting position. While trying to work his way forward, a big wreck would take place in front of him and he would find himself involved and in need of a trip to the work area.

Able to make repairs and restart, Forsberg would pick up a few of the positions he lost as he took the checkered with a 16th place finish.

Saturday night Forsberg got the night started off well by timing the C&H Motor Parts/Bushey Financial Services/Huggins Cams backed machine in fastest in his group as well as fastest overall.

Running second in his heat race, Forsberg would move into the Dash where the eight-pill put him in the fourth row. Picking up a couple of positions in the Dash, Forsberg’s sixth place finish put him in the third row for the 30-lap feature event.

A great start saw Forsberg quickly work his way up to third before a restart saw him overtake Blake Carrick for the second position.

Carrick would get back by the veteran, though he would continue to hold down the third position. Looking to be well on his way to a third place finish, the caution flew on the race’s last lap, setting up one final restart.

Losing a spot on the restart, AF would cap his weekend with a fourth place finish.

“I knew better on that last restart, but still gave away a spot on the podium,” Forsberg said. “Big thanks to F&F Racing for working their butt’s off. Not only were they working on the x1, but they also had Justin Bradway out in the No. 80n throwback car.”

F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank C&H Motor Parts, Bushey Financial Services, Huggins Cams, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, CRV Carbon Solutions, Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, All Pro Heads, and Engler for their support in 2020.
