Andy Forsberg Hard Charges to Fourth Place Finish on Saturday Night

PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to the seat of the F&F Racing No. x1 machine on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway for the first time since July 25th, Andy Forsberg would rally from a slow start and finish fourth.

“We got off to a really slow start, but we were able to dig ourselves out of a hole and methodically work our way to the Top-5,” Andy Forsberg said. “Our engine didn’t run in time trials and we ended up 21st quick out of 29 cars, so not exactly where we wanted to be to start the night.”

With the Placerville Speedway turning the lights back on for the first time since July’s Forni Classic, Forsberg and F&F Racing made their first start together in nearly two months. Getting off to a bit of a sluggish start, Forsberg would time the C&H Motor Parts/Bushey Financial Services/Huggins Cams backed No. x1 machine in 21st fastest in time trials before a sixth-place finish in his heat.

Missing out on the direct transfer into the feature, the Auburn, CA driver was relegated to the night’s “B” main event where he would charge from his fourth starting position and garner a second-place finish.

Safely transferring into the feature event, ‘Mr. Excitement’ would roll off the starting grid from the 18th starting position.

From the back of the pack, Forsberg would show patience early as a couple of wrecks in front of him would allow him to pick up a couple of easy positions. Once the race settled into a groove, Forsberg would come to life as he attacked the cushion that had built up on both ends of the speedway.

Working his way forward, Forsberg would crack the Top-Five late in the race as he chased after the Carrick brothers, and JJ Hickle who ran ahead of him.

Unable to garner a spot on the podium, Forsberg would cap the night with a strong charge through the field as he took the checkered flag in fourth.

“It was the first race we ran since we lost Carol Bradway, so we had the entire family here and hopefully we made them proud,” Forsberg said. “We were able to honor Carol, and Roy Lee Van Connett, so it was an honor to run a memorial lap for both of them.”

F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank C&H Motor Parts, Bushey Financial Services, Huggins Cams, PitStopUSAC, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, CRV Carbon Solutions, Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, All Pro Heads, and Engler for their support in 2020.
