PETERSEN MEDIA- Though Andy Forsberg and F&F Racing haven’t been up battling for wins in the first three races of the season with the SCCT, the team has been a model of consistency as they recorded their third Top-10 finish of the season in the series’ third race of the year Saturday night in Petaluma, CA.
“We have been consistent so far this season, but we are all working to get better,” Andy Forsberg said. “The guys have been working really hard on getting the car better each night so we will stick with it and try again this weekend in Placerville.”
Timing the Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes/Geico Local Office/PitStopUSA backed No. x1 machine in second quickest overall and fastest in his qualifying group, Andy Forsberg would line up in the second row of his heat race.
With the track hard and slick in the early goings of the night, Forsberg would score a third place finish in his heat race and make his way into the Dash where he would line up in the seventh starting position. Able to move forward, Forsberg would better his starting position for the feature event by a row as he would finish fifth.
Taking the green flag from the third row for the 35-lap feature event, Forsberg would get off to a bit of a slow start, as he would drop back in the Top-10 as he battled with the likes of Kyle Hirst, Tanner Carrick, and Shane Golobic.
Able to keep his F&F Racing entry fixed inside the Top-10 for the duration of the feature event, Forsberg would score his third SCCT Top-10 in three races this season by way of his ninth place finish.
With his finish, Forsberg and F&F Racing find themselves fifth in the early stands with 10-races still to go.
“You hate to go backwards in the feature event, but I know my guys will keep working hard to get this car back up front where it belongs,” Forsberg said. “It was a quick night, so kudos to the Petaluma staff, and thanks to everyone on this team for all of their hard work.”
