Andy Gregg Comes Up Just Short of Making Nor*Cal Posse Shootout

PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night for the Nor*Cal Posse Shootout, Andy Gregg would make a costly mistake in his heat race and he would come up just short of racing his way out of the ‘B’.

“Our results do not show it at all, but I felt like my car was as good as it has been in quite some time on Saturday night, and I just made a costly mistake in our heat,” Andy Gregg said. “Thanks to my guys for their hard work, and thanks to all of the great companies who back our race team and our racing efforts.”

Timing the GUTS/LAL Motorsports/Crane Inspection Agency backed No. 16x machine in 2nd fastest in his group, and fifth quickest overall in time trials, the Placerville, CA driver would line up in the second row of his heat race.

Battling up front in his heat race, and well inside a transfer position, Gregg would make a costly mistake that saw him loop his machine before finishing in eighth.

Based on his eighth-place heat race finish, Gregg would make his way into the ‘B’ Main event where he would chase after one of just four transfer positions into the feature event.

Lining up ninth in the 15-lap ‘B’ Main, Gregg would have his work cut out for him in a loaded semi.

On the hard and slick Placerville Speedway surface, Gregg would begin working his way forward as he raced his way through the Top-10, and towards the Top-5.

Getting up to the sixth position, Gregg would be unable to get Brent Bjork and Tanner Carrick who ran just ahead of him. Finishing sixth, Gregg’s night would come to an early end.

“It was disappointing, but the positive was the fact that I felt really good in the car, and that is something that has me excited about our next race; whenever that may be,” Gregg added.

Andy would like to thank GUTS, LAL Motorsports, Crane Inspection Agency, Meyers and Son Drywall, Sierra Ice, CTL Forest Management, Nail It Roofing, ARP Enterprises, Ervin Sales, Triple X, Wilwood, FK Shocks, FK Rod Ends, K&N, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Amerikote, Pony Express Service, Eagle Grit, and MF Inc. for their support in 2020.

ON TAP: Gregg is unsure when his next race will be at the time of press.

BY THE NUMBERS: Races-2, Wins- 0, Top 5’s-0, Top 10’s-0
