Andy Gregg Nets Silver Dollar Speedway Podium

PETERSEN MEDIA: Making a return visit to Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, Andy Gregg would return to the seat of the BrownEagle Racing  No. 01 machine and record a third place finish.

“It was great getting back up to Chico, CA and having another good run with the BrownEagle Racing team,” Andy Gregg said. “After our first night out last week, we made some changes to some issues we found and had a really good night.”

Timing in third quickest in qualifying time trials, Gregg would lock directly into the Fast Dash were he found himself on the front row. Able to motor away from the field, Gregg would pick up the win, which placed him fifth on the starting grid for the 30-lap feature event.

Falling back in the early laps, Gregg would settle in and start to pick off positions as he charged through the Top-Five. Showing some veteran savvy, and running a very patient race, Gregg would net a podium finish as he took the checkered flag with a third place finish in the team’s final start before next week’s Platinum Cup.

With King of the West Speedweek also being ran last week, Gregg would take advantage of a mid week race at Placerville Speedway as he made his second KWS start of the year on Wednesday night.

Getting his night started off great, Gregg would earn quick time honors amongst the 32 entrants aboard the GUTS/Capitol ACE Hardware/Crane Inspection Agency No. 16x.

Admittedly making a costly mistake at the start of his heat race, Gregg would be forced into the ‘B’ main on this night. Picking up win in the semi, Gregg kept his night alive as he advanced into the 30-lap feature event.

Lining up in the fourth row of the feature event on a very slick surface, Gregg would have a great run going as he raced around battling for position within the Top-10.

Falling outside the Top-10 with just 10 laps left in the race, contact would ensue as he looked to battle back to 10th, and it would result in Gregg spinning out and losing a nose wing.

Opting to restart without the nose wing, Gregg would pick up a couple of positions in the waning laps as he ended up finishing 19th.

“Going quick time in only our second 410ci start of the season was a huge confidence booster for us,” Gregg said. “I made a pretty costly mistake in our heat, but managed to get through the ‘B’, put us in a good spot in the ‘A’. Unfortunately there was some late contact that essentially ended our night. Big thanks to my guys for working so hard on Wednesday night with it being a short week, and thanks to everyone on BrownEagle Racing for the opportunity.”

Andy would like to thank GUTS, Capitol ACE Hardware, Crane Inspection Agency, Sierra Ice, CTL Forest Management, Nail It Roofing, ARP Enterprises, Ervin Sales, Triple X, Wilwood, FK Shocks, FK Rod Ends, K&N,  King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Amerikote, Pony Express Service, Eagle Grit, and MF Inc. for their support in 2019.

ON TAP: Andy Gregg will be idle this week but returns to Silver Dollar Speedway next Wednesday and Thursday with BrownEagle Racing as they will take part in the opening two nights of the Gold Cup.
