Austin Torgerson Picks Up Super 600 Win During Kaiser Memorial at Dixon Speedway




PETERSEN MEDIA- The 10th Annual Kaiser Memorial at Dixson Speedway was good to Austin Torgerson. Friday night, the Medford, OR driver raced his way to a win in Super 600 Winged action and backed it up with a third place finish in Non-Winged Competition, and on Saturday backed it up with another third place finish in Non-Winged action after issues hindered his Super 600 Winged efforts.


Friday night, Torgerson kicked his weekend off by timing the Safety-Klean backed N0. 88 entry in sixth fastest in Super 600 Winged Qualifying. Lining up third in his heat race, Torgerson’s sixth place finish in his heat placed him in the fourth row of the 25-lap feature event.


Taking the green flag from seventh, Torgerson got off to a quick start as he jumped into fourth on the race’s opening lap before moving into third on the race’s fourth circuit.


Continuing to work his way forward, lap 13 was where Torgerson made his next move as he moved into second as he continued to make strong laps around Dixon Speedway.


As the race continued to click off laps, Torgerson wasn’t done just yet as he made his race winning move on the 17th lap. Taking over the race’s top spot, Torgerson powered his way to the feature event win.


Non Winged action on Friday night was also a strong showing by Torgerson. Timing in second fastest in qualifying time trials, Torgerson lined up fourth in his heat race before he charged his way to a second-place finish.


Lining up on the front row of the Dash, Torgerson would pocket a second-place finish and line up on the front row of the feature event.


When the Friday night Non-Winged feature came to life, Torgerson jumped out to the early lead as he would lead the way for the race’s first 13 laps before slipping back to second Jeffrey Pahule was able to sneak by.


Back in second, Austin Torgerson would then link up in an entertaining battle with brother Ashton, as the two jockeyed for position on the podium. With Ashton getting the better of Austin in this race, Auston Torgerson capped the night off with a third place finish.


Back in action on Saturday night for the conclusion of the Kaiser Memorial, Torgerson kicked his night off win Non-Winged competition off by timing in sixth fastest before racing to a third place finish in his heat race.


Transferring into the 40-lap feature event, Torgerson had a tall order in front of him as he took the green flag from the 12thstarting position.


Jumping into 10th when the race went green, Torgerson’s pursuit to the front was officially on. Moving into ninth on the race’s fourth lap, Torgerson was able to work into eighth at the halfway point of the feature.


During the race’s final 10-laps, Torgerson had his elbows up as he made a furious charge forward. Taking over sixth on the 30th lap, Torgerson jumped into fourth six laps later before moving into third on the 39th circuit, where he would go on to finish.


In Super 600 Winged action, Torgerson timed in 4th fastest and ran fourth in his heat race, however issues kept him from running the 40-lap feature event.
