PETERSEN MEDIA- Sean Becker and his Menne Motorsports team turned in another strong performance at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, as Becker would finish in the second spot, before a forgettable night with the Monhoff Motorsports team at the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night.

“Friday night we were very strong,” Becker said. “I am very happy with the progress we have made, and am glad to come away with another great finish.”

Timing the Mike’s Hard Lemonade/Cherry Street Mini Storage/Menne Ranch Hay Inc. backed No. 75 machine in third fastest in qualifying time trials, ‘The Shark’ would finish fourth in his heat race, but still be eligible for the night’s draw.

Pulling the six in the redraw, Becker would line the Astro Titanium/Ponybracket.com/Shaver Racing Engines powered machine up in the third row for the 25-lap feature event. With the race going green, Becker would move to the high side of the speedway, as he went to work on Bud Kaeding and Rowdy McClennon as he cracked the Top-5.

Getting a fading Michael Ing early in the race, Becker would take over the third spot, as he then focused on second running, Andy Forsberg. As Becker continued to run in the third position, he kept close tabs on Forsberg, and made a bid for the second position on a few occasions.

Unable to make the pass, Becker would finally get the opening he was looking for on the race’s final lap, as he would clear Forsberg, and take the second stripe at the finish line.

Saturday night, Becker made the trip to the Placerville Speedway to compete aboard the Dan Monhoff owned No. 35 machine, the car that he claimed the 2013 Civil War Series Championship aboard.

Timing in 12th fastest of the 25 cars checked into the speedway, Becker would finish in the third position in heat race action, as he would transfer directly into the feature event.

Lining up in the sixth row, Becker would get off to a very strong start as he quickly worked his way forward, and into the Top-Five. Getting into the fourth spot in just a few laps, Becker would get out of shape as he battled for the third spot. As he tried to correct his mistake, he collected a pair of drivers, and his night would ultimately come to an end.

“We had a really good car on Saturday night, but I made a mistake and cost us,” Becker said. “My mistake also collected a couple of other innocent drivers, and I really want to apologize to Matt Peterson and James Sweeney for getting them involved. I hate that my mistake ruined other people’s nights.”

Becker would like to thank Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Cherry Street Mini Storage, Menne Ranch Hay Inc., Astro Titanium, Ponybracket.com, Shaver Racing Engines, FK Rod Ends, and K&N for their support in 2015.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts- 13, Wins- 2, Top 5’s- 10, Top 10’s- 10

ON TAP: Becker will return to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, as he will again pilot the Dan Monhoff No. 35 machine.
