PETERSEN MEDIA- Sean Becker was impressive at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night as he charged from the ninth starting position to finish third during the inaugural running of the Nor-Cal Posse Shootout.

“We certainly a car that was capable of winning the race,” Sean Becker said. “We had a fast car, but just missed out on some points through the weekend and it resulted in us just missing out on the shuffle by a single digit, and with a deep field like that all track position is huge.”

Friday night the festivities got underway as Becker timed the Mike’s Hard Lemonade/Cherry Street Mini Storage/Menne Ranch Hay, Inc. entry in 12th quickest in time trials with 41 cars checked into the pit area.

Starting on the front row of his heat race, ‘The Shark’ took care of business and picked up the heat race win, which was a big deal as points were the determining factor in lineups all weekend long.

When heats were done and points were tabulated, Becker had put himself in a good position as he found himself in the Top-Eight and in the Pole Shuffle. Defeating Tony Gualda in his first match up, Becker would come up short to DJ Netto and would line up in the third row of the feature event.

On a slick racing surface, Becker did a nice job of keeping himself in the hunt as he battled around the Top-Five for much of the night. A late yellow would be a little hard on the Roseville, CA driver as he would get shuffled back a few spots and finish ninth.

Running two heat races on Saturday night, Becker would look to get as many points as he could as he raced his way to a pair of fourth place finishes. Sitting fifth in points, Becker would miss out on the shuffle by just one point as he would line up in the ninth starting spot.

Amidst a very long green flag run, Becker showed off a very strong car as he charged his way forward and quickly found himself up battling near the Top-Five for the second night in a row.

Taking advantage of a late restart on the 32nd lap, Becker was able to rocket into the fourth spot as he chased after DJ Netto for the third spot. Hounding Netto, Becker would make it exciting at the finish as he was able to beat his competitor to the checkered and finish third.

“I am really looking forward to getting back to Chico, CA this weekend after the weekend we had,” Becker added. “We were definitely pleased with our speedway, and like I said, we’re all looking forward to carrying momentum into this weekend’s event.  “

Becker would like to thank Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Cherry Street Mini Storage, Menne Ranch Hay Inc., Astro Titanium, Ponybracket.com, Hunt’s Race World, Molecule, Shaver Racing Engines, FK Rod Ends, K&N, Pioneer Auto Body, and The Joie of Seating for their support in 2017.
