Carrick Caps Saturated PA Midget Week with Fourth Place Finish

PC-DB3

PETERSEN MEDIA: Though Mother Nature had her way with PA Midget Week and rained out three events, Tanner Carrick and Petry Motorsports were still able to get two nights of action in as Carrick captured eighth and fourth place finishes.

“It was a bummer that we had so many rainouts, but we had really good speed both nights,” Tanner Carrick said. “We were a little too tight on Saturday night and that cost us a little but still happy to close the weekend out with a fourth-place finish.”

Action Track USA would kick the trip off on Wednesday night, and Carrick would get the swing underway by timing the FK Rod Ends/Arai/K1 Race Gear backed No. 35 machine in 12th fastest in qualifying time trials.

Running second in his heat to Christopher Bell, Carrick would take the green flag for the 30-lap feature event from the 14th starting position. On the small bullring, Carrick would go to work as he quickly broke into the Top-10.

Able to pick up a few more position on the tight confines of Action Track USA, Carrick closed the night out with an eighth place finish.

Thursday and Friday night’s event but succumbed to Mother Nature, so Saturday night’s trip to Lanco Speedway would mark the second and final race of the scheduled Speedweek.

Timing in eighth quickest in time trials, the Lincoln, CA wheelman would win his heat race and find himself on the pole for the 40-lap feature event.

When the race came to life, Carrick quickly hammered the loud pedal and jumped out to the early lead on another bullring nestled in PA. Leading the way and running the cushion, Carrick would soon feel pressure from Tyler Courtney. Able to fend off Courtney’s challenges initially, Carrick would lose the race lead on the 14th lap.

Continuing to battle with the likes of Courtney, Michael Kofoid, and Cannon McIntosh, Carrick would keep his machine solidly inside the Top-5.

When the 40-lapp affair came to a close, Carrick would cross the stripe with a fourth place finish.

“Couple of fun races for the team, and I have to thank everyone involved for continue to work hard on all of our cars,” Carrick said.

Tanner Carrick at Petry Motorsports would like to thank Arai, K1 Race Gear, Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Keizer Wheels, ZMax, DR Horton, Toyota TRD, CVC, Cemex, BK Titanium, Interstate Oil Company, Emerald, and Harris & Sloan for their support.
