PETERSEN MEDIA- Carson Macedo and his Tarlton Racing team spent their weekend at the Silver Dollar Speedway competing in the Fall Nationals, and when the weekend came to a close, Macedo found himself with a pair of 10th place finishes.

“Qualifying seemed to hamper us all weekend,” Macedo said. “We put ourselves behind the eight ball a little bit with our time trial both nights, but we raced pretty well, and were able to pick up a couple of Top-10’s.”

48 cars checked into the pit area on Friday night to kick off the Fall Nationals, and Macedo kicked his weekend off by timing the Elite Landscape Construction/WFO Apparel/Tarlton and Son entry in 21st fastest, just narrowly missing out on the heat race inversion.

Lining up fifth in his heat race, the Lemoore, CA driver did a great job of getting into the transfer spot on the rough and heavy surface, as he worked his way up to a third place finish, earning a direct transfer to the feature event.

Lining up in the 10th row for the opening night feature event, Macedo was very good aboard his Paul Baines prepared entry, as he quickly began working his way forward.

In the first three laps, Macedo was able to pick up five positions as he found himself in the 15th spot when the first caution waived. Over the next eight laps, Macedo was able to work up to the 12th spot, where he ran when the caution waived on the 11th circuit.

Getting as high as eighth during the feature event, where he ran on the 15th lap, Macedo would lose a few positions, and finish in the 10th spot.

Saturday night saw 52 cars check into the pit area, and on this night, Macedo timed in 26th fastest, again putting him behind the heat race inversion.

Lining up sixth in his heat race, Macedo was able to work his way up as high as the second spot, where he would finish, and earn a berth in the 40-lap main event.

On a track that was a polar opposite of Friday night’s surface, Macedo lined up in the 21st first position, but had a hard time working his way forward, as he worked the tricky surface.

Slowly getting to the Top-15, Macedo did all he could to pick up positions, but cautions seemed to fall at the wrong time for him, and negate some of the ground he had made up.

Late in the race, Macedo was able to take advantage of a restart, that saw him make a couple of big moves, that put him in the Top-10 with just a few laps remaining.

With the checkered flag in the air, Macedo was able to close his weekend with a second Top-10 finish.

“I can’t thank Paul Baines, and the Tarlton team enough for all they do,” Macedo said. “We raced really well both nights, and it is nice to pass some cars and finish where we did.”

Tarlton Racing would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., WFO Apparel, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2014 season.

ON TAP: Macedo and his Tarlton Racing team will stay close to home the new few weekends, as they will be at the Thunderbowl in Tulare, CA this Saturday night in what kicks off three consecutive weekends of racing at the Thunderbowl.
