PETERSEN MEDIA- Though Mother Nature is having her way with the World of Outlaws during their Sprint Swing in California, she isn’t slowing down Carson Macedo too much as the Lemoore, CA pilot pocketed his second consecutive Top-Five finish with the series by way of his fourth place run on Saturday night in Stockton, CA.
“It was another really good result for the Tarlton Motorsports team,” Carson Macedo said. “I missed it a little in qualifying, but Paul Baines made really good adjustments the rest of the night and we were really fast. “
With 39 cars in the pit area Saturday night, the World of Outlaws would utilize a split qualifying format which would see Macedo time the Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino mount in 11th fastest in his group.
Lining up sixth in his heat race, Macedo would have a strong showing that saw him work his way up to a third place finish on a tricky racing surface and lock the Executive Auto Sales/Pabco Gypsum/Bandy and Associates entry into the 30-lap feature event.
With the track continuing to change through the night and leading into the feature event, Macedo felt confident going into the 30-lap affair as he took the green flag from the 10th starting position.
A great start would see Macedo jump into the seventh spot as the action came to life. Running there until the race’s first caution flag, Macedo would jump into fifth when the action resumed.
Battling with drivers like David Gravel and Shane Stewart, Macedo would take over the fourth position following a restart on lap 13.
Comfortably in the Top-Five, Macedo would continue to slice and dice with some of the countries best drivers as the checkered flag would waive with him ending his night in the fourth spot, giving him his second consecutive Top-Five with ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’.
“We got better and better as the night went on, and that is a testament to our team,” Macedo noted. “Again, I wouldn’t be in this position if it wasn’t for Tom and Tommy Tarlton. I am so thankful to have them in my life and to have this opportunity.”
