Carson Macedo Takes Advantage of World of Outlaws Rainout and Wins ‘Home Game’

PETERSEN MEDIA- Though scheduled to compete with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series in their ‘Dirty South Swing’, a subsequent rainout opened the door for Carson Macedo to spend his Saturday night racing with Tarlton Motorsports in Hanford, CA and it paid off as the Lemoore, CA driver picked up yet another win at his home track.

‘First and foremost, I want to thank Tom and Tommy Tarlton for allowing me to come out and race for them on such short notice,” Carson Macedo said. “I also want thank Drew Warner, Shane Watts, and Cole Macedo for all their hard work. Running three cars is no easy task, so I was happy to grab a win for the entire team.”

After getting his World of Outlaws campaign off to a strong start in Florida, Macedo was eager to get back to racing and it showed as he came out extremely strong in the Tarlton and Son Inc./EZ Haul/Executive Auto Sales No.21x machine.

Timing in second fastest in qualifying time trials, Macedo would advance form fourth in his heat race to garner a third-place finish and lock himself into the all-important Dash.

Finishing third in the Dash, the inversion would then place Macedo on the front row as he would lead the field to green alongside Kerry Madsen. On a super-fast racing surface, Macedo would be up to the task as he jumped out to the early lead only to see the red flag negate the start.

The ensuring restart saw Madsen get the best of Macedo, but heading into turn three, Macedo would surge to the point and lead the race’s opening circuit.

Out in front, Macedo would look very strong as he quickly closed in on the rear of the field. Getting to the back of the pack just before the race’s halfway point, Macedo would see his lead evaporate as a pair or cars would break his momentum and it allowed Madsen to close in a hurry.

On the race’s 13th lap, Madsen would sneak under Macedo to take the lead, but with both leaders in heavy traffic, Macedo was able to take the top spot right back on the 14th circuit.

While Macedo was out front, Madsen would stick with him though Macedo was able to keep Madsen at bay though it was quite an exciting battle. Able to hold the status quo up front, Macedo would go on to pick up the popular win at the Dave Helm Memorial.

“I always enjoy getting back home and running with my family and so many friends,” Carson Macedo said. “It was a great night for the team, and I am excited to see how they do all year. Again, thanks to the Tarlton family and the guys in the race shop for making it all possible.”

ON TAP: While Tarlton Motorsports will head to Chico, CA this weekend, Macedo now rejoins the Jason Johnson Racing team for a pair of World of Outlaws events on Friday and Saturday night at Cotton Bowl Speedway.
