(PETERSEN MEDIA- Aptos, CA, )- Saturday night in Calistoga, CA, the Civil War Series pres. by Flowmaster will return to the famed Calistoga Speedway for the first time since the 2015 season as they will share the stage with the King of the West Series in what is the Wine Country Classic.
In what will be the first of two visits to the beautiful ½ mile speedway nestled in the heart of Napa Valley, Saturday night’s event also kicks off the second half of the 2018 season as Cole Macedo sits in the driver seat chasing his first series crown.
Macedo will be back in the field Saturday night looking to build off of a strong weekend over the Memorial Day Holiday that saw him record a third place finish at Marysville Raceway after starting deep in the field.
The most recent Civil War Series pres. by Flowmaster action that took place was during the annual North State Double that took place at Marysville Raceway and Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA. During the double-header weekend wins went to Justin Sanders, and Kyle Hirst.
Saturday night’s Wine Country Classic is shaping up to be a great field of cars that will include 2015 winner, Sean Becker, as well as the likes of Koen Shaw who picked up his first ever Ocean Sprints pres. by Taco Bravo win, Jarrett Soares, DJ Freitas, Burt Foland, Shane Golobic, Tanner Thorson, Bud Kaeding, Kalib Henry, Willie Croft, Matt Peterson, Justyn Cox, Geoff Ensign, Tucker Worth, Collin Markle, Bobby Butler, and many more.
Calistoga Speedway is located at the Napa County Fairgrounds in Calistoga, approximately 25-miles north of Napa. The ticket booth opens at 2:00 p.m. Front gates open at 4:00 p.m. Qualifying begins at 5:30 p.m. Reserved tickets are available by calling 916-773-7223.

CIVIL WAR SERIES PRESENTED BY FLOWMASTER- Founded in 1991 as the North-South Series, the Civil War Sprint Car Series was born in 1993 giving 360ci Sprint Cars in California a sanctioning body. What started as just a handful of races at three different tracks has evolved into quite the series. In 2018, the Civil War Sprint Car Series will host 10 events at 5 different tracks around California.
