PETERSEN MEDIA- Making his second start of the season aboard the potent Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes No. x1JR, Colby Copeland would have a much better night that saw him finish 13th in the feature event.
“It was a pretty decent night overall,” Colby Copeland said. “I felt good all night, and it was a good second showing for us.”
Kicking his night of in qualifying time trials, the Roseville, CA wheelman would time the Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes/CRV Carbon Solutions backed sprinter in second fastest in his qualifying group.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Copeland would finish third and transfer to the feature event, and with a little luck on his side would also earn a spot in the Dash based on his qualifying time.
With his car not coming to life in the Dash, Copeland would be credited with a sixth place finish and grid the field from the sixth row in the 40-lap feature event.
Abel to get the issue rectified, Copeland would make the call for the feature event on the extremely slicked off racing surface. Struggling to make grip the feature event, Copeland would do what he could amidst some extremely hard fought battles on the track.
Racing with drivers like Sean Becker, Mitchell Faccinto, and Chase Majdic, Copeland would spend much of the night battling for a spot inside the Top-10.
As the race moved on and track continued to slick off, Copeland would lose a little ground to his competitors as he ended up finishing in the 13th spot.
“We are going in the right direction, and it was a much better night for us than Antioch was,” Copeland added. “ I have to thank all these guys for working hard, and hopefully we can continue to run well Friday.”
