PETERSEN MEDIA- Coming oh so close to his first career win on numerous occasions in 2018, Cole Macedo was able to get over the hump and score that elusive win on Saturday night at Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA.

“It feels great to finally get this car into victory lane,” Cole Macedo said. “I am happy for this team, they give me a great car every night and they all deserve this.”

Macedo had a great night from start to finish as he kicked things off by timing the Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino backed No. 21x entry in fourth quickest in qualifying time trials.

Finishing fourth in his heat race, the Lemoore, CA product would move into the Dash where the one pill put him on the front row of the six-lap shootout. Able to get the jump, Macedo would grab the win and earn the right to lead the field to green for the 30-lap feature event.

With the race struggling to get going with numerous stoppages on several attempts at starting the race, it would end up going green in single file formation. Getting out to the early lead, Macedo would look extremely strong out front but would have to deal with several stoppages and restarts over the course of the race.

Staying composed, Macedo knew he had a very fast car in clean air, so staying out of traffic kept him confident in the seat as he continued to pace the field. Staying strong out front, Macedo would continue to hit his marks as he would lead all 30-laps and score his first career win in a winged 360ci sprint car.

“It felt like the longest race ever,” Macedo said. “I knew we were good so I just kept my head right and hit my marks. Paul Baines, Tyrone, and my dad work so hard in the shop and at the track, this means so much to finally get a win and park in victory lane. Big thanks to the Tarlton family for their continued support and providing me a great opportunity.”

The Tarlton Motorsports team would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Yokut Gas, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2018 season.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-28, Wins-1, Top 5’s-11, Top 10’s-14.

ON TAP: Cole is tentatively scheduled to take part in the Cotton Classic back at Keller Auto Speedway on October 13th.
