PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to action at the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Justyn Cox avoided a near disaster on the 21st lap while running fourth, that saw him slip back and finish in the 11th spot when the dust settled on the event.

“We have a really good car at Placerville now, and it’s a huge testament to how hard this team has worked,” Cox added. “We will be back in a couple of weeks, and I am really looking forward to it.”

Timing the Berco Redwood/Berry Lumber/Trex backed No. 31c machine in second fastest in time trials, Cox would experiment in his heat race and finished in the third spot.

Pulling the four in the redraw for the feature event, Cox would jump into the third spot when the race went green ,as he worked the bottom in his pursuit of the lead duo.

Near the race’s halfway point, Cox would slip back to the fourth spot, as Andy Gregg used the cushion to get the position, and Cox went to school and moved to the cushion as he now chased after Gregg.

Unable to get a run to get the position back, Cox would continue to run in the fourth spot, until he got up over the cushion on the 21st lap, and brought his machine to a stop beyond turn four.

Able to restart the race, Cox would pick up a couple of positions, as he would end his night with an 11th place finish.

“Just one little mistake cost us a top-five, but we are all really pleased with where we are at Placerville in relation to where we were when we started the season,” he added. “Huge thanks to everyone for all of their hard work.”

The Cox Racing team would like to thank Berco Redwood, Berry Lumber, Trex, PM Truck Repair, LRB, JRI Shocks, Konnected, Sacramento Theatrical Lighting, College Cyclery, JRD Endeavors, VSR, ART, Axcel Race Suits, SafRacer.Com, K&N Performance, Justice Brothers, Cheetah IV Racing, E-ST Garage, Worton Designs, Manzer Motorsports,  and Tim’s Hot Rod Shop for their support in 2015!
