Dakota Hendrickson 13th during Knoxville Raceway 360 Opener

PETERSEN MEDIA: Dakota Hendrickson and his Van Dyke Motorsports team were able to get a trio of shows in last week, as Hendrickson finished 15th on Wednesday night in Oskaloosa, IA, 21st at the Eagle Raceway with the NSL, and 13th during the Knoxville Raceway 360ci opener on Saturday night.

“It was nice to get a bunch of racing in last week,” Hendrickson said. “The Van Dyke Motorsports team has been giving me a great car, and now it is on me to get into a rhythm, and pick up some good finishes.”

Kicking a busy week off of Wednesday nigh in Oskaloosa, IA, Hendrickson would draw a high pill for his heat race starting position, and would find himself in the fourth row, before finishing in the seventh position,

As the night progressed, the track would take shape, and Hendrickson would move from his sixth starting position in the night’s B Main to finish in the third spot, and transfer his Lucas Oil/K&N Products/JRI Shocks backed No. 5h into the feature event.

Lining up 18th in the feature event, Hendrickson continued to show speed, as he was moving forward, and chasing after a position in the Top-10. As two cars spun in front of him, Hendrickson had get collected, and would end up finishing 15th in the feature event.

“We had a really strong racecar, and I wish I could have finished where this team deserved,” Hendrickson added.

Returning to action on Friday night at the Eagle Raceway with the National Sprint League, Hendrickson would finish third in his heat race, and transfer into the feature event, where he would line up in the 21st starting position.

Unable to do much from the back of the pack, Hendrickson would end his night in the 21st starting position, as he then set his sights on the Knoxville Raceway opener.

Climbing aboard the Van Dyke Motorsports No. 5h for the 360ci portion of the program, Hendrickson would time in ninth fastest, before finishing sixth in his heat race.

After finishing second in the B Main, Hendrickson would transfer to the 20-lap feature event, where he would grid the field from the ninth starting position. Racing with Blake Hahn and Jordan Weaver, Hendrickson would finish in the 13th spot.

“Getting more laps is going to help me, and again, I really want to thank Harley Van Dyke for all of his hard work, and getting me a really good racecar on a nightly basis,” he added.
