PETERSEN MEDIA: Dakota Hendrickson and the Van Dyke Motorsports No. 5h machine were in action for three races over the last weekend as Hendrickson made the World of Outlaws feature event at the I-80 Speedway, and scored a 14th place finish at the Huset’s Speedway on Sunday night.

“We got into the feature event on Friday night with the Outlaws and unfortunately had a part fail, before we struggled at the Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night,” Hendrickson said. “Sunday night we had a good run going, but I got to aggressive on the wing and we lost a few spots in the closing laps.”

Heading to the I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, NE to take on the World of Outlaws, Hendrickson would time the Lucas Oil/K&N Products/JRI Shocks backed No. 5h machine in 18th fastest.

Finishing seventh in his heat race, Hendrickson would transfer into the feature event after he picked up a fourth place finish in the night’s Last Chance Showdown. Starting in the 18th spot in the feature event, Hendrickson would experience a part failure in the early stages of the race and was credited with a 22nd place finish.

After a tough night at the Knoxville Raceway where he would not make the feature event, the Van Dyke Motorsports team headed to the Huset’s Speedway on Sunday night for another night of 410ci racing.

A late rain shower prompted the track to scratch qualifying and turn the program into a draw show. Lining up in the second row of his heat race, and would have some struggles that would put him in the ninth row for the feature event.

Getting off to a nice start in the main event, the Omaha, NE pilot would work his way toward the Top-10 as he got into the 11th position. As he continued to work his wing adjuster to gain grip with his machine, Hendickson would admittedly get too aggressive as he machine got too tight in the closing laps and he would slip back to finish in the 14th spot.

“Sunday night was a nice way to end our weekend,” Hendrickson added. “We have been pretty good at Huset’s so far this year in my opinion, but unfortunately I made a couple of mistakes that took a better finish away from our team.”

The Van Dyke Motorsports team would like to thank Lucas Oil,  K&N Products, JRI Shocks, NAAKE Suspension, FSR Radiators, for their support during the year.
