PETERSEN MEDIA- After a little bit of bad luck early in the season, Greg DeCaires and his Dale Miller Motorsports team are quickly re asserting themselves as a strong presence at the Placerville Speedway as DeCaires picked up his third consecutive top-three finish at the ¼  mile speedway on Saturday night.

“It was pretty slick in the feature event, and we were right in the mix all night long,” Greg DeCaires said. “We had a late restart not go our way, but we still had a great night and finished in the third spot.”

With 20 cars checked in at the speedway on Saturday night, the Elk Grove, CA driver would time the Dale Miller Plumbing and Septic/Thompson’s Auto Center/RedHawk Casino No. 4SA entry in third quickest in qualifications.

From the second row of his heat race, DeCaires would get into the second spot as he battled with Andy Gregg for position. Finishing second, DeCaires would qualify for the redraw and find himself in the second row for the 25-lap feature event.

On an extremely slick surface, DeCaires would find himself battling with Kirt Organ for the second spot as the duo chased after Mason Moore in the early goings of the race. As laps clicked off with no stoppages during the first 16 laps, DeCaires would close in on Organ for position until the race’s first caution flew on the 16th lap.

A wild restart would see the race leader involved in a spin, with a huge pile up ensuing in the back of the pack with DeCaires now taking over the second spot. With the track continuing to slick off, DeCaires would chase after Organ, though rubber had gone down on the speedway and passing was becoming difficult.

With just three laps to go in the feature event, the race’s final caution flew and the field was re-racked in double file formation for a final restart, DeCaires would see Michael Kofoid get by him, and though he tried to take the second spot back, he would end his night with a third place finish.

“This team has continued to work hard, and it has been great to be up front the last couple of nights out,” he added. “I want to thank Dale and Tara Miller, and this team for all of their help, and continued support.”

Greg DeCaires and the Dale Miller Motorsports team would like to thank Dale Miller Plumbing and Septic, Thompson’s Auto Center, RedHawk Casino, NAAKE Suspension, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Gary Morgan Graphics, Joe Hunt Magnetos, Smith Precision Products, MotoWear, Frank’s Auto Body Shop, and Wesmar Racing Engines for their support.
