DJ Netto 11th in Yuma, AZ With ASCS National Series

PETERSEN MEDIA: With the California season coming to an end last weekend, DJ Netto and the Tri-C Motorsports team made the trip to Yuma, AZ to take on the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour at Cocopah Speedway where Netto would finish in the 11th spot.

“We were really good all weekend and I was really comfortable in our car,” Netto said. “Friday night we got going and had a bolt break which ended our night, and Saturday night I made a late mistake that cost us a Top-10.”

Kicking the two-day extravaganza off on Friday night, Netto would find himself on the front row of his heat race where he would pick up the important win and move on to a qualifier.

Starting and finishing fourth in his qualifier, Netto would sit ninth in points on this night, which would line him up in the fifth row for the 25-lap feature event. Taking a liking to the top of the speedway, Netto would start working his way forward until trouble struck on the 11th circuit and his night came to an end.

Back at it on Saturday night, Netto would get off to another good start as he worked from fifth to finish third in his heat race before tallying another third place finish during his qualifier.

Lining up 11th in the 30-lap ‘A’ Main, Netto would work on the cushion that had built up right on the Cocopah Speedway wall as he climbed his way inside the Top-10. With passing a little tricky on this night with most guys using the cushion, Netto would work his way up to the seventh spot before a late race caution bunched the field back up.

The restart would not be kind to Netto as he would lose a few spots and bring his night to an end with an 11th place finish.

“It was kind of a bummer to have bad luck on Friday night, but it was nice to get a couple more races under our belt,” Netto said. “We got together with the Tri-C Motorsports team late in August and really clicked and had some fun the last few months. I have to thank everyone who made this possible, and I am looking forward to our first race next year.”

ON TAP: Netto is hoping to take part in the upcoming Turkey Night Grand Prix.
