PETERSEN MEDIA: A busy weekend of 360 and 410 racing saw DJ Netto and Tri-C Motorsports pick up a pair of Top-10 finishes.

“We came back after a pretty successful Bradway weekend and ran well again I thought,” DJ Netto said. “Friday night we had speed on a track that was tough to pass on, and on Saturday night it was a bit eventful but we were still able to finish eighth.”

Returning to his home track in Hanford, CA on Friday night, Netto timed the Tri-C Manufacturing/Netto Ag/Penny Newman Grain backed No. 3c entry in fourth fastest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Hanford, CA product would put on a show for the local fans as he raced his way to the win and punched his ticket into the nightly Dash.

Pulling the six pill in the Dash, Netto would finish sixth and line the Tri-C Motorsports entry up in the third row of the feature event.

On a locked down surface, Netto would spend much of the night battling with Gio Scelzi as they jockeyed for position inside the Top-Five. With wheelies and bicycles the norm on this night, Netto would do what it took to take the checkered flag in the fourth spot.

Meeting back up with the KWS on Saturday night in Placerville, CA Netto would get off to a nice start as he timed in ninth fastest in qualifying time trials. Starting on the front row of his heat race, Netto would pick up a convincing win and again move into the nightly Dash.

Lining up seventh, Netto would have some help off the racing surface and was forced up the exit hill on the backstretch where he would come to stop, but unfortunately not see the yellow flag waive.

Scored ninth, the Hanford, CA wheelman would grid the field from the ninth spot in the feature event.

On an extremely slick Placerville Speedway, Netto would search both the high and low lines has he fought hard inside the Top-10. With early stoppages slowing the race’s early flow, Netto would get into a groove once the race settled in.

Battling with the likes of Mitchell Faccinto, Justyn Cox, and Michael Kofoid, Netto would look for position up in the top-five.

Contact late in the race would see Netto nearly lose the handle on his machine, but he would keep his car pointed the right direction. Running the final laps with a damaged nosewing, Netto would end his weekend with an eighth place finish.

“Placerville has always been tricky for me, but I feel like I am getting a better handle on it with these guys,” Netto said. “I have to thank everyone for all of their hard work, and hopefully we can get this thing back up front this weekend.”

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-21, Wins-1, Top 5’s-5, Top 10’s-8

ON TAP: DJ Netto and the Tri-C Motorsports team will take to Ocean Speedway on Friday night before another KWS battle on Saturday night in Tulare, CA.
