PETERSEN MEDIA: With his Tri-C Motorsports team making the tow to his home track on Saturday night, DJ Netto would have an eventful night at the Keller Auto Speedway and though he wasn’t able to record the finish he was hoping for, Netto was pleased with how things felt.

“Saturday night I felt really good at the Keller Auto Speedway,” Netto said. “In the feature I just made a couple of mistakes that cost us. I hate it for Lee and Shane, because they gave me a great car every time I hit the track.”

Back aboard the Clyde and Marion Lamar owned No. 3c, Netto would make his first start in front of his hometown crowd aboard the iconic car. Timing in fourth fastest, the Hanford, CA driver would work from his fourth starting position to pick up a second place finish during his heat race.

Moving into the six-lap Dash, Netto would find himself with the eight pill, but the Fresno State student would improve his feature event starting position by a row as he would finish in the sixth spot.

With a strong hotrod under him, Netto would get off to a good start in the feature event as he worked his way up to the second spot and was in a battle with Dominic Scelzi and Cory Eliason.

Slight contact from a car while in traffic would get Netto’s machine out of shape as he slid through the infield. Able to keep his machine under power, Netto would re enter the racing surface back in the sixth spot.

As the track continued to widen out as the night went on, Netto would work by Mitchell Faccinto, Craig Stidham and Gio Scelzi as he worked his way back into the second spot.

Working the high side of the speedway as he chased after race leader, Cory Eliason, Netto would get into the cushion and pack his front end full of mud and eventually bring his night to an end just a few laps short of the checkered flag.

“I really have to thank Clyde and Marion Lamar for this opportunity,” Netto said. “I want to win a race for them badly, and I pushed the issue a little to hard towards the end of the race. These guys really have me comfortable in this car and I can’t wait to see what we can do Saturday night in Placerville, CA.”

ON TAP: Netto at the Tri-C Motorsports team will meet back up with the King of the West Series on Saturday night in Placerville, CA.
