PETERSEN MEDIA: Planning to take the weekend off to get ready for a very busy three-week stretch in California, DJ Netto and his DNR team made a last minute decision to head to the Fall Nationals in Chico, CA where Netto picked up a couple of Top-10 finishes against a star-studded field of competitors.

“The track was pretty slick both nights, and I really have to thank my guys for working hard to get us better in it each time we hit the track,” Netto said.

Friday night with 54 cars on hand, Netto timed his Netto Ag/Penny Newman Grain/Kaeding Performance No. 88n machine in fifth fastest, putting him on the front row of his heat race.

Getting the jump on fellow front row starter, Jason Statler, Netto was able to hang on to the top spot, and the win would put him in the night’s Dash. Pulling the six pill, Netto would maintain his track position and his sixth place finish would place him in the third row for the 30-lap A Main event.

On a slick and racy Silver Dollar Speedway, Netto did not quite have the drive he needed to get moving forward, but he was able to hold his own against some of the best that California has to offer. Battling with Jonathan Allard and Shane Golobic late in the race, Netto would close Friday night out with a seventh place finish.

“We just struggled to get going good on a pretty slick surface on Friday night,” Netto said. “We were not bad by any means, but my guys worked hard all night and we were able to finish in the Top-10.”

Saturday night saw 56 cars check into the Silver Dollar Speedway for the Fall Nationals finale, and an early qualifying draw would work out for the Hanford, CA pilot as he would time in second fastest in his qualifying flight.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Netto’s fourth place finish transferred him into the 40-lap feature event, as well as the Dash, where he would go on to finish in the fifth spot.

With a majority of the drivers using the bottom side of the speedway in turns three and four and the top in turns one and two, Netto again would battle with the likes of Jonathan Allard and Justin Sanders in the early goings of the race.

Continuing to run inside the Top-10 as the laps clicked down, Netto would feel pressure from Carson Macedo, as they fought for the eighth spot. Able to keep his position, Netto would close his weekend out with an eighth place finish.

“They were not the two greatest finishes, but to run that consistent is something for us to build on, for sure,” Netto said. “I was happy with how we all worked together to try and get our car better, and I am really excited to get back to Hanford and Tulare this weekend.”

DJ and his Netto Racing team would like to thank Netto Agriculture, Penny Newman Grain, Bogies Auto Parts, Kaeding Performance, and Vande Pol Enterprises for their support in 2015.

ON TAP: Netto will be in action on Friday night at the Kings Speedway in Hanford, CA and on Saturday at the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA with the King of the West Series.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-50, Wins-3, Top 5’s-9, Top 10’s-16
