Driver of the Week: Ryan Bernal

Ryan Bernal took the first couple of months of the sprint car season off to concentrate on being a fireman and graduating from the South Bay Fire Academy. Upon completing said fire academy, all the Hollister, CA native did was win first off the bench in 8 months in Santa Maria vs. the USAC/CRA crew and then nearly pull off the double by running a close second at Perris Auto Speedway. If that wasn’t enough, he got back under a wing for the first time and set fast time at Petaluma where he ran fifth and followed that with a sixth place finish the next night in Placerville. For running 4 races in 4 days made up of two wingless and two winged, and showing talent never sleeps while coming back as good as ever, Ryan Bernal is the Dream Team’s Driver Of The Week.

Honorable mention to Sheldon Haudenschild for his back to back All Star wins.
