When the racing world lost Bryan Clauson in early August it hit close to home for our tight knit racing community. For some it hit closer than others. The bond between the Golobic’s and the Clauson’s runs deep in Northern California, and over the weekend something truly special took place. Climbing aboard the Matt Wood Racing 17w, the winged sprint car that Clauson was piloting in his Circular Insanity tour, Shane Golobic honored his fallen friend the best way possible; by parking his ride in victory lane after making a last lap pass to win the Queen’s Royale. Over coming to emotion of piloting the car, and visiting a new track, and winning, the driver of the week is Shane Golobic.
