PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting back to one of his favorite tracks, the Petaluma Speedway, Matt Peterson had a good night going until he was involved in a wreck on the opening lap of the feature event that would see his night come to an end.
“We had a really good night going, and we had a ton of speed which was a good feeling, “ Peterson said. “Unfortunately we got into some trouble on the opening lap of the race and it brought out night to an early end.”
Timing the Miller Lite/V&H Fresh/Inventory Sales Company No. p37 machine in seventh fastest, Peterson would have a very strong heat race. Racing his way to the win, Peterson would move into the feature event where he lined up in the third row.
When the feature event went green, Peterson would jump into the third spot getting into turns one and two. Coming out of turn four, Peterson would spin his machine out, and carnage would ensue, and Peterson’s machine was too tore up to finish the race.
“It is never good to spin out, especially racing wheel to wheel like we were on Saturday night,” Peterson said. “We tore some equipment up, but we had a ton of speed, and that was the positive of the night. With the Civil War race back there this weekend, hopefully we can be in the hunt.”
