PETERSEN MEDIA- Slowed by fuel issues one week ago, Michael Faccinto and F&F Racing team showed their resolve as they bounced back to secure a fourth-place finish on Saturday night in Placerville, CA.
“It was another solid night on the hill,” Michael Faccinto said. “Alan Bradway have been talking about how important qualifying is and our last three trips to Placerville Speedway we have stepped our time trial game up and really set ourselves up for success.”
With 27 cars on hand, Faccinto got the night kicked off by timing the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Lucas Oil backed No. x1 entry in third fastest.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Hanford, CA driver would just need to finish inside the top-four to garner a berth in the redraw and he did just so as he tallied a fourth-place finish.
Based on his qualifying time, Faccinto was solidly in the nightly redraw, though as luck would have it the seven-pill put him in the fourth row for the 25-lap feature event.
When the race came to life Faccinto admittedly got off to a slow start as he kept to himself and ran inside the Top-10.
Biding his time on track that was very technical, Faccinto would take advantage of a myriad of double file restarts as he worked into the Top-Five. Climbing into fight, Faccinto would be in the right place at the right time as an incident in front of him allowed him to take over the fourth position.
Battling with Landon Brooks for the final spot on the podium in the race’s closing laps, Faccinto would cap a stout Saturday night off with a fourth-place finish as points races dwindle away at Placerville.
“I struggled early in the feature, and we just kind of hung around the Top-10,” Faccinto added. “As the race moved along things started to come to me and we really got rolling. Big thanks to all of the F&F guys for their continued hard work as well as to all of our partners that make this possible.”
