Forsberg Fights Back to Finish 8th During 4th of July Extravaganza

PETERSEN MEDIA- Though it was a very rough start for Andy Forsberg and the F&F Racing team on Sunday night at Placerville Speedway, the team fought through some major adversity and recorded an eighth-place finish in the 25-lap feature event.

“Sunday night got off to a pretty tough start with a fuel issue keeping us from qualifying,” Andy Forsberg said. “Some things went our way in the heat race, and we transferred into the ‘A’, and we got to working on a really slick surface and ended up with a Top-10.”

With 32 cars checked in for the annual extravaganza at Placerville Speedway, an issue in time trials would keep the C&H Motor Parts/Bushey Financial Services/PitStopUSA backed machine from getting a lap in and they would officially be scored 32nd.

Lining up in the back of their heat race, a couple breaks would go Forsberg’s way as he would work his way into third and pressured for second at times. Finishing third, the Auburn, CA driver would avoid the ‘B’, as he transferred directly into the feature though would start 18th.

On the slicked off racing surface, Forsberg would jump up into 13th on the race’s initial start before slipping back to 15th just before the hallway point.

Slowly working his way back forward on the famed bullring, Forsberg would get into 14th on the 15th lap, before getting into the Top-10 on the 20th circuit.

A caution with three to go would put the field in single file formation, as Forsberg would take full advantage as he picked up two spots in the final two laps and capped the night off with an eighth-place finish.

Also, in action on Saturday night at the Stockton Dirt Track for Sprint Car Challenge Tour action, Forsberg would time in fourth fastest in his qualifying group before finishing third in his heat race.

Lining up 12th in the feature, Forsberg would spend much of the race running in the same position as pre-race track prep created a fast surface in the early goings of the race.

As the track began to change during the final 15-stanzas, Forsberg would try a few things that would result in him slipping back to finish 14th.

“It was a bit of a trying weekend, but we still are just missing something,” Forsberg said. “The guys are working hard, we just seem to be lacking a little, and hopefully we can get it sorted with a couple of weeks off.”

F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank C&H Motor Parts, Bushey Financial Services, PitStopUSA, Geico Local Office, Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, CRV Carbon Solutions, All Pro Heads, and Engler for their support in 2021.

ON TAP: F&F Racing will be idle this weekend before returning to action on July 17th.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-21, Wins-2, Top 5’s-8, Top 10’s-14.
